KENTUCKY TO PILOT BUSINESS COURTS
While business courts currently exist in Indiana and other states, business courts have not previously operated in Kentucky. However, the Kentucky Supreme Court has recently launched a pilot program for business court that will initially operate only in Jefferson County, Kentucky Circuit Court located in Louisville, Kentucky. Business courts typically are restricted to handling complex commercial cases and business disputes. The goal of business courts is to more effectively and efficiently resolve business cases by having them heard by judges that are well-versed in business law matters and by following case management procedures that are tailored to the needs of business-related cases.
