Terry Farmer’s practice is grounded in commercial, financial and corporate law, concentrating on business disputes and transactional work. His time is spent equally between the courtroom and the negotiating table. Terry’s 30 years of experience in law firm management and the experience he has gained acting as general counsel to clients in the banking, telecommunication, manufacturing, construction, mining, and theme park industries have given him the perspective and skills to approach clients’ problems as both legal issues and business problems.
Laura Scott works with clients interested in starting a new business venture, discussing common pitfalls and possible solutions. She helps clients manage risks when buying or selling a business, entering into a new contract, or protecting what they have worked hard to build. She assists business owners and managers with non-compete agreements, employment contracts and real estate deals. Laura also helps bankers and financial services professionals navigate the complexities of commercial loan transactions.
Andrew Ozete centers his practice on advising businesses, banking and creditors’ rights, including bankruptcy, State Court, and negotiated workout solutions. He represents businesses, financial institutions, trade creditors, and debtors in transactions, leases, litigation, business workouts, loan restructurings and Chapter 11 cases. He helps clients through the uncertain waters of the bankruptcy process and helps them maximize their returns. Andy advises institutional clients and small business owners and serves in general counsel capacity for various clients.
Lindsay Schmitt concentrates her practice on assisting individuals and families in attaining their estate planning objectives through the preparation of Wills, Trusts, Durable General Powers of Attorney, and advance healthcare directives. With proactive planning, Lindsay helps families prepare for long-term care expense and also assists in situations in which it is necessary to seek Medicaid assistance for the payment of long-term care expense. Lindsay assists farmers and landowners with a variety of legal issues such as business formation and succession planning, purchase agreements, real estate leasing and planning for asset protection.
Jamie Dameron’s practice focuses on environmental law. She assists clients in transactions and regulatory compliance matters involving environmental issues and has experience with environmental audits, civil penalty mitigation strategies, agency settlement negotiations and pollution prevention options. She also advocates for clients litigating complex environmental issues before administrative agencies and in state and federal court. Jamie brings 10 years of technical experience as an environmental consulting geologist prior to her 16 years of legal work.
Beth Burger concentrates her practice on assisting clients in the areas of estate planning, elder law, tax reduction planning, asset protection planning, special needs planning for disabled or elderly individuals, and charitable giving. For clients with business aspirations or interests, Beth assists in the formation, organization, and operation of business entities, and in planning for succession of businesses to the next generation. She also assists individuals and families in managing the often complicated and challenging issues arising for them in the administration of trusts, estates, and guardianships. Beth’s years of experience and the skills and expertise she has built along the way allow her to provide thorough, sophisticated, and compassionate counsel to each of her clients.
