Community Organization Spotlight: The Evansville Rescue Mission Susan H. Snyder Center for Women and Children

The Evansville Rescue Mission (ERM) has a 105-year history of working to solve the problem of homelessness in our community. Until recently, their focus has been on the population of homeless men in our area. Seeing a need to address the issue of homelessness for women and children, ERM broke ground on Thursday October 19th on the Susan H. Snyder Center for Women and Children. The Center is expected to open in early 2025. ERM acquired an existing building on Professional Boulevard in Evansville and will be renovating the space to create a home for 120 women and their children. The goal is to provide healing for women coming from illness, addiction, trauma, abuse, lack of education and a shortage of affordable housing. Once renovated, the Center will include a salon, fitness center, laundry facility, library, indoor playground, daycare, and a teaching kitchen.

Farmer Scott Ozete Robinson & Schmitt LLP attorneys Dan Robinson & Laura Scott attended the groundbreaking ceremony. We are proud to support the efforts of the Evansville Rescue Mission in addressing this critical need in our community.

To make the vision a reality, ERM launched a $9 million capital campaign. The Safe & Sound Campaign has already received pledges in excess of $4 million.
