Ozete Elected EBA President
Farmer Scott Ozete Robinson & Schmitt LLP partner Andrew C. Ozete has been elected President of the Evansville Bar Association at the organization’s annual meeting. Andy’s term will begin on June 1, 2021.
The Evansville Bar Association was incorporated in 1911. The founders had three stated goals:
The study and development of law as a science.
The elevation of the standing and dignity of the profession
The establishment of a law library
Today, there are approximately 550 attorney and paralegal members.
Andy’s community service covers a broad range of organizations but has a focus on youth development. He has served as President of the Public Education Foundation of Evansville and Chairman of the Native Trails District of the Boy Scouts of America, is heavily involved with his church and volunteers with Young Life.
Andy has been in practice for over 22 years and is widely regarded as a leading creditors’ rights lawyer, particularly in complex business bankruptcy issues. His practice centers on advising businesses and banks, particularly in the areas of risk mitigation, commercial transactions, creditors’ rights, leasing and business workouts.
Andy is board certified in business bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification. He has been awarded the Distinguished Barrister by Indiana Lawyer and has been rated as a Super Lawyer for 10 years.
