FSO Legal Welcomes Jozie M. Barton
Jozie M. Barton has joined Farmer Scott Ozete Robinson & Schmitt LLP as a summer law clerk. Jozie has completed her second year at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. Her law school experience includes an externship for Judge Edward W. Najam, Jr., an internship with Judge Peter R. Foley, and service as a Research Assistant to Professor Kenneth G. Dau-Schmidt. She is a managing editor for Volume 97 of the Indiana Law Journal and serves as a mentor to first year law students. This past year she also participated in student government as the Health and Wellness Officer and was the Philanthropy Chair for the Adams Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity.
Jozie earned a Bachelor of Arts with Highest Distinction in English and a Bachelor of Arts with Highest Distinction in Criminal Justice from Indiana University. During her undergraduate career, she earned awards including English Department Valedictorian, Executive Dean’s List, the James A. Work Prize, the Robert Stumpner Outstanding Senior Award, and a Founders Scholar. She served on the College of Arts + Sciences Committee for Undergraduate Education, the Provost’s Task Force for the Committee for Fee Review, and the 2017 Committee for Fee Review.
A native of Gibson County, Jozie enjoys volunteering with young students in their kindergarten classroom, working the Owensville Watermelon Run, puzzles, running, and baking.
