LEGAL ALERT: INDIANA GOVERNOR ISSUES STATEWIDE MASK MANDATE
Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb announced a statewide mask mandate effective on Monday, July 27, 2020. Businesses should be aware that the executive order applies to anyone age 8 or older entering any indoor public or business area. The order will apply to outdoor public spaces when the six feet social distancing standard cannot be maintained. Individuals should also consider that the order will require masks for students returning to schools in grades 3 and above as well as all employees and teachers of opened schools. Masks will also be required for extra-curricular activities, except for strenuous activities. Violators will be subject to being charged with a Class B misdemeanor which carries a punishment of up to 180 days in jail and up to a $1,000.00 fine.
